Privacy policy

Who we are (data controller): cherrypick is operated by Alexandre Mathias, an individual based in Paris, France (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at cherrypick@alxmths.com.

The cherrypick browser extension (the “Extension”) lets users (“you”) clip parts of the web — through highlights, screenshots, and notes — and turn that into a structured and reusable format.

This policy explains how data is handled and why.

1. Your data stays on your device

cherrypick has no backend, no servers, and no accounts. Everything you create in the Extension — clips, screenshot images, source URLs, notes, tags, and preferences — is stored locally in your browser and never transmitted anywhere, to us or anyone else.

Because nothing leaves your device:

• We do not collect, sell, or share your data.
• We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising.
• We do not use your content to train AI models.
• No account or login is required.

2. Limited Use disclosure

Data is used locally in order to service cherrypick’s clipping features. It is never transferred to us.

cherrypick’s use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. No AI Training

We do not use clip content, notes, webpage content, screenshots, or synced data to train machine-learning or AI models.

4. Manage your data

The user is in control to manage their data :

• View or edit clips, notes, and tags any time.
• Delete individual items, or uninstall the Extension to remove everything at once.
• Export your library from Settings [confirm this exists].

Nothing is stored on our end to request, correct, or delete, since we never receive it.

5. Children

cherrypick is not directed at children. It is intended for users old enough to consent to data processing under local law (13+, or 16+ in parts of the EU).

6. Changes

We may update this Policy in which case the “Last updated” date above will reflect that.
